Jenn & Justin first met in April 2018. Believe it or not, while Jenn was on another date. At the time, Justin was in the Coast Guard, and they hit it off with every intention of just keeping things friendly. In the first few months, they weren’t able to see each other again while Justin was on a deployment, but when he returned, they continued spending time together. They eventually realized, as Jenn put it, “We were happiest with each other.”
Jenn told me she knew she loved him when he came with her to Disney for her birthday and hunted down a special lamb stuffed animal that she had when she was little but had since lost. He gave it to her and told her he loved her, and as they say, the rest is history.
For their art deco inspired wedding, Jenn and Justin chose a classic and romantic palette of burgundy, black, gold, nude and sage. Their head table showed off their style with a stunning, long table that snaked the length of the dance floor.
For their wedding, the ceremony location was originally planned to be in Market Street Circle, the Charleston Place’s brick-lined patio that surrounds the hotel’s signature fountain. However, with rain on the forecast, the ceremony was moved inside to the Riviera’s iconic theater. Making Jenn’s “walk down the aisle” all the more memorable.
The rainy day aesthetic only added to their candlelit, art-inspired day. We spent their private portrait time exploring creative spaces inside the hotel and theater, turning them into the art.
One of my favorite moments of the evening was Jenn’s dance with her father. They performed a choreographed dance to a special cut version of “Dance with Cinderella.” The night ended with a dress change for Jenn, and a sparkler exit outside the theater, as they headed to the Thoroughbred Club for a night cap.
